CITY of Derby swimmer Adam Peaty won silver in tonight's 50m breaststroke final at the Commonwealth Games.
The 19-year-old from Uttoxeter was second in 26.78, a new British record.
South Africa's Cameron van der Burgh won gold in a Commonwealth Games record 26.76 and said: "I look forward to competing with Adam more often. He's giving the old man a chase for his money. I remember the days when I was young and he's fired me up. I've been complacent in the last two years."
Australia's Christian Sprenger took bronze.
