IT is disgusting to see people spitting on streets and seeing the residue on the pavement, but at least it washes away. I wish more could be done about people throwing litter from car windows.
I live in Heage and every day there are new McDonald's wrappers and drinks cartons, as well as lager cans and plastic bags strewn in the lanes around my village.
My partner and I do clear the rubbish away and the council sends a wagon to sweep the pavements a couple of times a year, but I'd like to see something done to educate the perpetrators.
There used to be litter campaigns, but I haven't seen these for a long time.
