HUNDREDS of people gathered in Derby today to watch Scouts parade through the city to mark St George's Day. The parade began at 2.30pm near to Sir Peter Hilton garden. They marched via Corporation Street to the Market Place and up to the cathedral, St John's Church and St Mary's Church. A service was held at Derby Cathedral at 3pm. Dad Simon Burch was there to watch his two sons Daniel, seven, and Thomas, eight, take part in the parade. Mr Burch, 41, of Chaddesden, said: "I remember doing this when I was in the cubs myself. I think it's a really good event for the local Scout movement and think it's good for the girls and boys as it makes them feel part of the community."
