BBC Radio Derby presenter Andy Potter has officially opened Heage Windmill for its 2014 season.
The popular broadcaster said it was "an honour" to cut the ribbon and welcome visitors to the historic attraction.
Crowds gathered to welcome Andy while dignitaries and volunteers were on hand for the ceremony, which took place at noon on Saturday.
Andy said: "As a Derby and Derbyshire lad it really is a pleasure and a genuine honour to be invited to cut the ribbon and open this fantastic working tourist attraction to visitors this year."
