POLICE investigating the disappearance of missing Derby student Nadish Kunwar have pulled a body from the River Derwent.
Officers retrieved the body from the river outside the offices of the Derby Telegraph at 6.35pm today.
Nadish, 20, has not been seen for over three weeks.
Officers in a police boat were on the stretch of the Derwent which runs adjacent to Bass' Recreation ground.
There was heavy police activity in the area including three police cars and two vans parked outside the offices of the Derby Telegraph.
The police also cordoned off sections of the area.
Chris Burrows, 37, of Victory Road, Allenton said: "I cycle in this area quite often and I am very shocked by what I have seen.
"When I first saw all of the police cars I thought something might have happened at the football match.
"But then I thought it seems much more serious than that.
Simon Ainley, of Matlock, said: "This is an extremely tragic situation."
