STEVE McClaren felt Derby County deserved their point against Blackburn Rovers - and was slightly disappointed not to have taken all three. Patrick Bamford's 84th-minute strike earned the Rams a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park after Rudy Gestede had put the hosts ahead early in the second half. Derby responded well to falling behind and arguably created enough chances to have won. "The equaliser was well deserved - we're a little disappointed not to have won the game," said head coach McClaren. "It was scrappy in the first half and there was nothing in the game, with half chances at both ends. "Then after conceding a goal, the response of the team was great. "We got the ball down and played, and were positive with our substitutions again." Bamford, on loan from Chelsea, came off the bench to score for the second week running and also went close to a second near the end. His superbly taken goal was set up by another substitute, Conor Sammon. "It's great when you've got people who can come off the bench and make an impact," said McClaren, who replaced injured midfielder Jeff Hendrick with Will Hughes in the first half. "With 20 minutes to go, I thought we were in control of the game. "So we opened it up, brought Conor on and went 4-2-4. "We dominated the game and deserved the equaliser - and what a goal it was. "And we should have got the winner in the end."
