A SHOPKEEPER chased off a masked armed robber after pulling out a baseball bat from under his counter.
Police say the man was alone in the Lifestyle Express shop, in Nottingham Road, Ilkeston, at 9pm on Monday.
The would-be robber walked in brandishing a knife and demanded cash.
But the shopkeeper refused and pulled out the bat. He chased the man off down Nottingham Road.
Police say the offender had his face covered with a scarf and a hooded top pulled up to conceal his identity.
