SIXTY jobs will be created after a major employer has been given the go-ahead to build a factory extension.
Brunel Healthcare, in William Nadin Way, Swadlincote, already employs about 300 people and will now dip into the local jobs market after plans were approved by South Derbyshire District Council.
Councillor Robert Wheeler, leader of South Derbyshire District Council, said: "This is excellent news.
"It is very welcome and is another sign that South Derbyshire is open for business."
The company manufactures vitamins, minerals and nutritional supplements.
It specialises in private labelling and the manufacture of shelf-ready goods across the world.
Brunel Healthcare currently employs 248 people, with an additional 60 jobs created by the new facility, bringing the total to 308.
