A MAN was taken to hospital after falling through a floor into a basement of an electrical shop in Normanton.
The incident happened at 1.10pm yesterday just inside the entrance of the Dani Electrical shop, in Upper Dale Road, Normanton.
Ambulance crews were called to the scene and a 38-year-old was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital.
Police said details of his injuries were not known but they were not thought to be serious.
Properties on either side of the shop were evacuated as the building was checked by Derbyshire Fire Service for its structural integrity before paramedics went inside.
They tended to the man at the scene and with the help of firefighters were able to get him out of the property.
The road was also closed for a short while near its junction with Stanhope Street by police while the building was made safe.
Builders were at the scene during the afternoon carrying out repairs.
