A KNIFE robber was locked up for 57 months after raiding a shop and then admitting 12 burglaries.
Derby Crown Court heard that Luke Jollands, 25, told police about breaking into homes, in an attempt to start life afresh following prison.
The hearing was told he was caught because CCTV filmed him wearing the blue top he often wore in Swadlincote. This was recognised by the owner of Yates Convenience Store, who was studying film of the raid in Union Road, Swadlincote.
He passed on the suspect's name to police who went to Jollands' and found the top, said Esther Harrison, prosecuting.
Officers found cash and packets of cigarettes on the route between his home and the store. About £500 had been taken by another man and Jollands, 25, of Wellwood Road, Newhall.
Jollands pleaded guilty to robbery and burglary of a house on Bells End Road, Walton-on-Trent. He had 11 burglaries taken into consideration and was jailed for four years, nine months.
The court was told that a teenage shop assistant has been left suffering from nightmares after the raid.
