THE youngest child to die in the Victory Road fire was wearing his school uniform.
Jayden Philpott, five, was in his uniform when he was one of six children pulled from the blaze house.
Jayden was declared dead shortly afterwards, along with brothers John, nine, Jack, seven, and Jesse, six, and sister Jade, 10. The oldest of the children, Duwayne, 13, died a day later.
Details of what the children were wearing emerged yesterday at the continuing trial of the children's father and mother, Mick and Mairead Philpott, on charges of their manslaughter. Family friend Paul Mosley is also charged.
Duwayne was wearing jeans and boxer shorts, John was wearing jeans and a T-shirt, Jade was wearing pyjamas, Jack was wearing boxer shorts and Jesse was also in his underwear.
It also heard Mairead had written seven suicide notes before the fire, saying she accepted her husband loved his live-in girlfriend, Lisa Willis, more than her.
