SEVERE weather is causing chaos on the county's roads.

The eastbound A52 heading towards Derby from Ashbourne is now clear after a fallen tree blocked the road earlier.

Lorry drivers helped move the tree from the middle of the road.

Roes Lane at Crich is closed because of a broken down vehicle in a dip. The dip is also full of flood water.

And Dallimore Road, Kirk Hallam, is open but there is standing water in a dip in the road.

The A52 at Borrowash and Spondon is passable with care but a lot of surface water is making driving conditions difficult.

The A608 at Horsley near the A609 Ilkeston turning, at the Rose and Crown pub, is under water but the road is open and passable with care.

There are also reports that a vehicle has become stuck in Scropton Road, Scropton, because of flooding. And the B5023 road between Duffield and Wirksworth is flooded around Hazelwood. The road is open but driving conditions are difficult.

Derbyshire County Council also said it was aware of problems on the A6 in Milford; Red Lane, Makeney; Coalpit Lane in Coton-in-the-Elms and Smalley Mill Road near Morley.
