EVERYONE deserves a spot of pampering and the St Peters Quarter has a wonderful selection of hair, health and beauty salons – many of which are independently owned and managed.

Salons offer top quality service and the latest techniques to ensure you look your best for the party season.

There is also a wealth of places to relax and take a well-needed break from shopping, ranging from cosy cafés to fantastic restaurants.

And for those looking for evening entertainment, Derby Theatre is one of the region's best-known venues, offering top productions and shows for all the family.

The area has always been a popular destination for restaurant-goers because of the varied venues on offer, such as Mogul,Thai Boran and Vie Bar, in Green Lane; Siam Corner, in Osmaston Road; and the Himalayan Gurkha restaurant, in Macklin Street.

Alternatively, you can play the tables at the Genting Casino, sample international cuisine at the new Jimmy's World Grill or sit back in luxury and gaze at Derby's skyline from restaurants at the Holiday Inn and Hampton by Hilton hotels.

A major gateway to the St Peters Quarter is just opposite the city's stunning new bus station – taking you into the bustling Eagle Market or along East Street.

Taxi ranks are conveniently situated in The Morledge and The Spot, among other places, and there are regular shuttle buses to the nearby railway station.

There is also plenty of parking, including on-street meters, surface car parks and several nearby multi-storeys.

And look out for the new directional signs, part of the city council's pioneering Wayfinding strategy and in the St Peters Quarter easily identifiable colours.

Before you head to the shops – check out the new St Peters Quarter website – www.stpetersquarter.co.uk – which has information on opening times, special events and promotions, and new developments.

Members of the general public can register on the website free of charge.

Make sure you also pick up a copy of the new mini guide available at businesses and from the Tourist Information Centre in the Market Place. It includes a map of the St Peters Quarter, listings of all the businesses and general information.

The St Peters Quarter Rangers are also on hand during the day to assist visitors and highlight the hidden gems in local streets.
