AN inquest has opened into the death of a man whose body was found in a Derbyshire canal.
A member of the public called 999 after spotting Michael Hawksley floating in the water near Lock Lane, Sandiacre, shortly before 9am on Wednesday.
PC James Robinson, from Long Eaton police station, told Derby and South Derbyshire Coroner's Court this morning that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the 54-year-old, who lived in Frederick Street, Stapleford, Notts.
Paul McCandless, assistant deputy Coroner, opened and adjourned the inquest pending further investigation.
