A 34-YEAR-OLD man has been handed a suspended jail sentence for stealing more than £500 of alcohol from two supermarkets.
Mircea Costea entered Aldi in Chaddesden twice this year and took the bottles. He first stole from on April 19, taking £110 worth from the store, and returned on May 3, taking £112 of goods.
Costea, of Calshot Road, Birmingham, then returned to the county and stole £300 of alcohol from Aldi in Hilton on June 22.
Magistrates in Derby jailed him for 12 weeks, suspended for a year, ordered him to pay £372 compensation, £85 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
