A HAND grenade found at a Derbyshire recycling firm was a "practice grenade", police said this afternoon.
Officers said staff at Environmental UK, in Cotes Park Lane, Alfreton, found the object shortly before midday today.
Officers were called to the scene as well as specialist explosive experts.
The area was cordoned off while investigations took place as a precaution.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said the object was a "practice grenade" and that it had been deemed "safe" and disposed of by explosive officials.
