A MOTORIST had to be treated at the roadside following a collision in Derby. Police, the fire service and paramedics were called to the accident, in Normanton Road, shortly after 12.30am on Sunday. A fire service spokesman confirmed it did not have to rescue anyone from their vehicles but that one of the drivers, a man, needed to be treated for minor injuries. The road was closed briefly while the scene was cleared of debris and investigators examined the circumstances behind the collision. One of the cars left the road and collided with a road sign which was sent crashing into shutters at the Polanski shop at the junction of Normanton Road and Rose Hill Street. On Sunday the shop remained cordoned off with police tape. Passer-by Lloyd Smith, 57, of Pear Tree, said: "Looking at the damage it is amazing no-one was hurt."
