BURTON Albion manager Gary Rowett has bolstered his promotion-chasing squad with the addition of Sheffield United midfielder Callum McFadzean on an initial one month loan deal.
McFadzean (20) is a product of the Sheffield United academy and made his debut for the Blades as a substitute against the Brewers in the Capital One Cup back in August 2012, and also started the game against Burton earlier on this season.
Predominantly a left-sided player, McFadzean, who has also represented England at Under-16 level earlier in his career, will add some competition to the Brewers midfield.
Rowett was pleased to be able to add McFadzean to his promotion-chasing group with the big games coming thick and fast over the next month.
"We are delighted to have got Callum on board" said the Brewers boss, "he is a player that we have watched a lot and we are really grateful to Nigel [Clough] at Sheffield United for allowing him to join us. He can play anywhere down the left-hand side, has good quality and his energy and versatility will be a great addition to the squad for this important month."
McFadzean goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's game away at Scunthorpe United and will wear squad number 15.
