OLYMPIAN Ross Davenport hopes to raise thousands of pounds for charity after signing up for a string of events – including Derby's revived half marathon.
The 29-year-old swimmer will be joined by his wife, Claire, in the Ramathon, which returns this summer after an 18-year gap.
Ross' brother, Ashley, and his fiancée, Helen, will also compete in the 13.1-mile race on June 8.
Meanwhile, Ross and Ashley are also signed up to run the London and Paris marathons in April.
The brothers are taking part in the events to raise money for the Children with Cancer charity.
Ross – who won two gold medals at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and is a three-time Olympian – said he was particularly looking forward to the Ramathon, which will start and finish at Elvaston Castle.
The former Belper School pupil, who retired from competitive swimming in 2012, said: "Helen has done a half marathon previously but my wife, Claire, hasn't done anything like this and it's going to be a massive challenge for her, especially after the recent birth of our daughter, Piper.
"We are looking forward to training as a family when possible, although Ash and I are already in training for the Paris Marathon and, just seven days later, the London Marathon.
"Ash and I have done a half marathon before and our finishing times were six seconds apart, so it should be close.
"We have set a fund-raising target of £5,000 and are delighted to be able to include the Ramathon event in our fund-raising activities.
"Running together in our home city will be a very special occasion for us all".
Ross will also be joining the Ramathon team at Elvaston Castle for some of their Breakfast Runs, held to help runners train for the event.
Race director Richard Kay said: "We are delighted that Ross has chosen to support the Ramathon. A new baby, an already busy schedule and the family competition might make training a challenge for Ross but we are on hand with our breakfast runs to assist the whole family."
