NOTTINGHAM Forest are lining up a £2m bid for Middlesbrough defender George Friend, according to reports. The former Doncaster Rovers full-back was named Boro's player of the year last season. Forest boss Billy Davies is looking to bolster his squad before the January transfer window closes. QUEENS Park Rangers have been linked with a move for St Johnstone striker Stevie May. QPR boss Harry Redknapp has been keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old front man, who has scored 20 goals this season. Saints recently rejected a £500,000 bid for May from League One side Peterborough United. QPR are also said to be closing in on the loan signing of Algeria international striker Ishak Belfodil from Italian giants Inter Milan. DEFENDER Paul Konchesky has signed a new 18-month contract with Championship leaders Leicester City. The 32-year-old full-back has made 117 appearances since joining the Foxes in 2011. "Leicester is where I want to play my football so I'm really pleased we've been able to agree a deal that works for me and for the club," he said. "I've really enjoyed it over the last three seasons and I'd love to make sure the next one is in the Premier League." CRYSTAL Palace boss Tony Pulis is reported to be furious after the club tried to sign a player behind his back. Pulis is said to have known nothing about Palace's bid for Wigan Athletic defender Ivan Ramis. The manager has asked Eagles chairman Steve Parish for money to sign Blackburn Rovers defender Scott Dann, Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey and Brighton forward Will Buckley.
