DERBY County winger Michael Jacobs is enjoying his football at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Jacobs scored his first Wolves' goal in the 2-0 victory over Crewe Alexandra on Boxing Day. His three-month loan is up after Wolves' trip to Gillingham on January 3 and boss Kenny Jackett is keen to keep the 22-year-old longer. "It is something we have talked about internally and we'll see as we go into the New Year," Jackett said. "We haven't spoken to Derby yet so there's nothing set up but we've been impressed by what Michael's done and we like him." "At 22, he's got a good base of experience – he's played nearly 160 games – which is a really good platform to move forward in his career." Jacobs' one start for Derby this season came in the Capital One Cup tie at Oldham in August. He signed from Northampton Town in the summer of 2012 and his contract runs to 2015. "Derby are flying at the minute – they're fourth in the Championship," Jacobs said. "I'll speak to Steve McClaren and we'll see what happens after that and go from there. "I'm just enjoying my football. It's nice to get the opportunity to play at Wolves and I feel settled here now." Asked how he would feel about having his loan extended, Jacobs said: "Definitely. The boys are doing really well and it's a nice place to be." "The standard of football is high and it's a good club to play for. "I'm grateful for the opportunity and hopefully I can keep that going, depending on what happens in January."
