DERBY could see 1-2cm of wet snow falling tonight.
Forecaster for the Met Office, Laura Young, said this may settle for around half an hour but will quickly melt.
Snow has already started to fall over the Peak District with a chance of sleet later on in the city.
Lara said: "There will be heavy showers over the course of this evening.
"Some could become wintry but a majority will be rain.
"There's a risk of snow over the hills."
There is a Met Office yellow warning for ice for today which lasts until tomorrow morning.
Laura added: "The heavy band of rain this evening followed by clear skies could lead to a risk of ice."
The alert was issued earlier today and lasts until 10am tomorrow.
