KIERAN Debrouwer struck the decisive goal in extra-time as Heanor Town dumped Alfreton Town out of the Derbyshire Senior Cup in extra time at the Impact Arena on Tuesday night. Debrouwer capped a virtuoso performance by drilling the ball home from 12 yards in the 110th minute to send the Northern Counties East League side into the fourth round. Meanwhile Alfreton, who currently sit ninth in the Skrill Conference, suffered a fourth consecutive game without scoring and are now left to focus on their league campaign. Heanor's goalscorer had seen several shots saved by Reds keeper Ross Atkins, while the home support felt they should have had a penalty when Danny Wishart was brought down in the area by Matthew Blake close to the end of normal time. BORROWASH Victoria provided the other giant killing in this week's third round ties, as they edged a tight contest at Belper Town, emerging 2-1 victors. The game was goalless going into the final 10 minutes, before Sam Kellogg put the visitors in front. Jon Froggatt equalised after 83 minutes but David Hind struck with a minute of normal time remaining to book the Vics' place in the quarter-finals. MATLOCK Town fell to a 3-2 defeat in a see-saw contest at Glossop North End – but will be much more concerned about the fact that defender Adam Yates fractured his cheekbone during the match and was due to have an operation this morning. The Evo-Stik Premier outfit took an early lead through Lavell White as they dominated the opening exchanges. Glossop battled back to take a 2-1 lead shortly before half-time. First, captain Lincoln Adams fired home, then Sam Madeley finished well from the edge of the area. The Gladiators levelled shortly before the break, however, as Danny Holland stabbed home after Glossop failed to deal with a corner. Madeley scored his second of the game to put Glossop back in front after 56 minutes, and a missed penalty from Bradley Grayson proved costly as North End held on for an impressive victory. The result infuriated Matlock boss Mark Atkins. "It was embarrassing for everyone – the players , management, committee and the fans," he said. " The desire and quality we've shown for the vast part of the season wasn't there. "I warned them after the match on Saturday not to take the Glossop game lightly and drilled it into them again before the game." A DANNY Gordon goal ensured that Ilkeston avoided an upset against Gresley as they progressed to the next round with a 1-0 win at the New Manor Ground. Gordon took advantage of poor defending at a corner to knock home the only goal of the game shortly before the break. Ilkeston keeper Rob Peat made an important save in the final minute to deny the visitors extra-time. MICKLEOVER Sports saw their participation in this year's competition end as they went down to a 2-0 loss at home to Shirebrook Town, who play two levels below them in the pyramid. Ross Henshaw and Aaron Moxon were on target for Shirebrook with second-half goals. A Matt Harris hat-trick helped Graham Street Prims to a 3-1 success against Holbrook St Michaels. QUARTER-FINAL DRAW: Graham St Prims v Heanor Town, Shirebrook Town v Glossop North End, Buxton v Ilkeston, Borrowash Victoria v Chesterfield or Long Eaton United.
