A COMMENT on a Derby Facebook forum from a person asking for advice on how to stop their child being friends with a youngster who has ADHD has sparked an online furore.
The message was left on Spotted: Derby Town, where people can post anonymous messages, among other things asking for advice.
It said: "My daughter has a new friend at school and I need some advice on how to stop this friendship.
"The other child has ADHD and the thought of my child associating with them terrifies me. I can stop this at home but school I can't, I have rung the school to voice my concerns but they don't seem to want to take the matter seriously.
"I was thinking of rallying some other parents together to see if we can get a meeting with the governors.
"Any advice on what else I can do would be appreciated."
Hundreds of people have responded angrily to the post, with more than 530 comments so far.
David Ward said: "I think the child needs a change of parents, not a change of friends."
Charlotte Fletcher wrote: "If this is a genuine post then the person posting should be ashamed of how pathetic and judgmental they are."
And Aimee Gunn said: "I cannot believe I have just read this, I'm disgusted!!!"
