JINTY'S Big Weekend steams into Butterley's Midland Railway from tomorrow.
Aimed at younger visitors, organisers hope children will leave knowing a bit more about railways and their history – as well as being entertained. The event will feature Jinty, the railway's hard-working and friendly 0-6-0 tank engine, with Taffy the Welsh engine, Daphne the diesel multiple unit, and the many attractions that form the Midland Railway – Butterley. Jinty is set to impress in its special Somerset and Dorset Railway livery of Prussian Blue, launched in May.
The event will include a full-sized Railway Show with the engines helping to deliver supplies to the buffet.
The event will take place tomorrow and Sunday, with trains chuffing down the track from 10.30am.
