AN off-duty firefighter helped a resident fight a fire in their flat.
The blaze started at just before 3pm in a property in Stanhope Street, Derby.
Crews from Kingsway, Ascot Drive and Nottingham Road were called to the scene but when they got there they found the fire had gone out.
The occupant of the flat had been led to safety by an off-duty firefighter who was nearby when the incident happened.
No action was taken by the fire service and no injuries were received by the occupant.
Crews left the scene at about 3.30pm.
