ONE disastrous hole was responsible for ending Paul Wesselingh's challenge in the US Senior PGA Championship in Missouri The Derby man looked set fair to beat the cut after he had shot a one over par 72 on the first day. But after opening his second round with a bogey five and also bogeying the fifth hole of the day, another par four, Wesselingh hit deep trouble on the 209-yard par three sixth. He finished it with an agonising four over par seven and, from there, the battle to beat the cut was one he was unlikely to win. Birdies at the eighth and 12th holes were tempered by further bogies at the ninth and 15th as he carded a six over par 77 for an seven over total of 149, three shots too many to extend his week.
