INVESTIGATORS are expected to make an announcement into what caused a crash at Donington Park in which a racing driver died.
Christian Devereux died on Sunday. He was driving a Mini Cooper when it crashed into an American-built Ford Mustang, which had spun off on the Coppice Corner bend.
Mr Devereux had been taking part in Donington's Historic Festival.
A circuit statement said: "The organising race club, Historic Sports Car Club, and Donington Park Racing Limited, together with the circuit's medical and emergency services, will now be co-operating with both the Leicestershire Police and motorsport's governing body, the Motor Sports Association, in order to determine the cause of this tragic accident."
People paid tribute to Mr Devereux, of Chiswick, London, on Twitter.
British Touring Car champion Jason Plato said: "Terrible news that Christian Devereux died at Donington Park. Kinda puts things into perspective. Condolences to his family & friends."
