MAREHAY Vauxhall is backing this year's Colossal Cake Sale in aid of armed forces charity Help for Heroes.
The Ripley dealership's staff will don aprons, grab wooden spoons and get baking for the event, to be held on Monday in the showroom and service reception from 10am, which aims to support recovering wounded servicemen and women.
The Colossal Cake Sale has grown amazingly from just seven events in 2008 to more than 700 last year and the charity hopes to see this continue in 2013 as even more communities play their part.
Ian Beardsley, Marehay Vauxhall general manager, said: "Help for Heroes is a charity close to all our hearts and is Vauxhall's chosen charity. All the team here are really behind this."
Emma Parry, the charity's chief executive officer and co-founder, added: "H4H is all about 'doing your bit' and this event is a wonderful example of people rallying support and having a great deal of fun while they raise money for a wonderful cause. The money you raise is needed, it is being used and it is hugely appreciated."
