Arson suspected after fire at Derby flat

POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack at a flat in Pear Tree. A door mat at the property in Harrington Street was on fire at 5am Saturday morning. A spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was already out by the time crews from Ascot Drive and Nottingham Road arrived. He said the police were called due to the suspicious nature of the incident. The flat is part of the Kenyatta Court complex.
