OLYMPIC swimmer Ross Davenport and wife Claire are expecting their first child, they have revealed.
Ross, from Belper, announced the news on social networking site Twitter last night.
The 28-year-old, who competed at three Olympic Games before retiring from swimming last year, tweeted: "Extremely proud to announce that @ClaireLDavo and I are expecting our first child in September! #happytimes!"
He also posted a photograph of the baby's scan on Twitter as well as announcing that he was at the Rams game last night. The couple married just before Christmas at St Mary's Church in Melton Mowbray.
