SPECIALIST water rescue fire crews from Kingsway have saved a dog from a river bank.
The firefighters used an inflatable raft and travelled upstream to rescue the terrier-cross during the rescue mission yesterday.
The dog was trapped on a ledge which was six feet below the river bank near Church Lane, Doveridge. An Ashbourne fire crew also helped and the dog was returned to its owner safe and well.
