Updated: 5.15pm: THERE will be outbreaks of snow in Derbyshire throughout Saturday night and Sunday morning. A Met Office spokesman said: "Through the night we will see outbreaks of snow through the area for a lot of the night, but it will be lighter and patchier as the night goes on." He said that temperatures would be about -2C, but could reach -4C. He added: "The strong easterly winds will be continuing through the night so there will be a problem with drifting snow in the area." Outbreaks of snow are forecasted for Sunday morning but it should be dry by the afternoon. The spokesman said: "Sunday will be very cold. Temperatures will be about 1C or 2C, but with the strength of the winds it will feel below freezing for the whole day." Updated 4pm: GRITTING lorries have been salting and ploughing roads across Derbyshire all day. Derbyshire County Council's snow ploughing contractors have been helping to clear the snow as well as grit tertiary routes and other roads. They will continue this evening. Updated 3.45pm: AN accident involving a lorry and a fallen tree has caused the B5020 Uttoxeter Road to become congested. The road is partially blocked and there are delays in both directions at the Cavendish Way junction. Updated 3:35pm: POLICE say they are receiving a lot of non-emergency snow-related calls and are asking people to use their own initiative. Derbyshire police said they had received more than 450 calls since midnight, with "a good proportion" related to the weather. Derbyshire police spokesman Rob Lester said: "A good percentage of the calls were not necessary to be reported to the police. "The vulnerable people in our society are being taken care of by well-practiced adverse-weather procedures in consultation with the emergency and partnership services. "For those that are not vulnerable, there's an expectation that a degree of personal responsibility is taken, such as decisions as to whether to travel or not, so that we can focus our efforts on those that truly do need our help." Updated 12:50pm: Flights at East Midlands Airport are now back on. The airport, which closed its runway and suspended all flights this morning, say they should be back to normal over the next few hours. Passengers are still advised to check their airline before setting off to the airport.FLIGHTS: Live flight information from East Midlands Airport Traffic has been seriously disrupted across the county with many roads blocked. Motorists should be prepared for hazardous driving conditions on A514 Main Street in Ticknall between the Repton Road junction and the B5006 High Street junction. Drivers should expect delays on the A38 northbound in Alfreton between the B600 junction and Alfreton.
