Steve Howard's double for Derby County helps sink Cardiff City

ON this day in 2007 Derby County beat Cardiff City 3-1 at Pride Park to go top of the Championship.
Steve Howard put the Rams ahead with a 28th minute penalty only for Paul Parry to equalise.
Giles Barnes restored the lead four minutes after the break before Howard took his tally to 17 goals for the season.
The victory, watched by a crowd of 27,689, all but secured a place in the play offs with seven games left.
Derby's players, manager and staff held a team huddle on the pitch at the end of the game.
Manager Billy Davies explained: "What was said was 'well done' and 'great bottle' because it was a huge game for us, and for Cardiff."
