ADAM Legzdins and Frank Fielding remain in a closely-fought battle for the number spot at Derby County.
Nigel Clough has hinted at sticking with Legzdins but the manager says Fielding is "banging on the door" for a recall.
Fielding started the season and made 10 consecutive appearances before he suffered a groin injury in the draw at Middlesbrough on October 3.
Legzdins came in and he has kept his place.
The 26-year-old made his 30th consecutive appearance in the 3-1 defeat at Birmingham City last Saturday.
He was at fault for Cardiff City's late equaliser last week and was hesitant when Yannick Bolasie broke clear to score Crystal Palace's winning goal at Pride Park last month.
There was a question mark over him on Sheffield Wednesday's first goal at Hillsborough last month although Legzdins claimed he was impeded, a view shared by Clough.
Some fans wondered if Clough would make a change and bring back Fielding but Legzdins held on to the first-team gloves at Birmingham.
"We've got two number ones, really," said Clough, when asked about the battle of the keepers.
"When Frank was in, Adam was pushing for the number one spot.
"Now Adam is in, Frank is doing the same."
"We just make the decision, if there is one to be made, near the game.
"It is good in some ways but it does cause us another problem in that they both want to play and both expect to play.
"We have stuck by Adam after a few mistakes.
"You cannot drop a player, outfield player or goalkeeper, on one or two mistakes.
"Frank found it very tough last season playing virtually all of the games.
"We have got a number of players playing at this level for the first time and they are feeling it for different reasons, be it mentally or physically.
"I would say Adam falls into that category at the moment.
"It is his first real go at this level."
