DERBY County left it late to earn a point against Bolton Wanderers last night – but they lost another defender to injury.

Jamie Ward equalised late on in the 1-1 draw at Pride Park after the visitors had taken the lead with an own goal from Derby skipper Richard Keogh.

The injuries are piling up and biting deep into the Rams' small squad. Right-back Kieron Freeman limped off in the first half.

"He has a badly sprained ankle. He's had it strapped and left the stadium on crutches," said manager Nigel Clough.

"That is the sixth defender we have lost to injury now."

Freeman looks set to join Shaun Barker, Jake Buxton, Mark O'Brien, James O'Conner and Gareth Roberts (suspended) on the sidelines.

It was Derby's second successive home draw after Saturday's stalemate with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"I cannot remember Bolton having a shot and we put the goal in for them," said Clough.

"Richard Keogh strained every sinew to get his head on it and it went in. It seems to be the way it is going in the penalty area at the minute.

"But I thought we had enough chances and situations, balls bobbing around in the six-yard box and it didn't quite drop for us.

"We are not too disappointed with a draw, given what we had out there.

"The lads cannot give any more again."
